WHY MOBAIR
Ventilation system with up to double heat recovery
Balances room temperature, eliminates drafts, and meets Scandinavian building regulations with a small carbon footprint and a long expected lifespan.
Health and wellbeing
Better sleep quality, energy, and focus thanks to fresh indoor air.
Property protection
Prevents mold and radon buildup, extends the lifespan of the building structure.
Energy efficiency
A 1–3°C more even temperature brings 5–15% savings in electricity consumption.
Long lifespan
Proven lifespan of over 30 years and virtually no maintenance needed.
Comparison
Mobair vs. traditional ventilation
Mechanical ventilation drawbacks
- Expensive equipment and labor-intensive duct installation
- Ductwork needs space that's often unavailable in older buildings
- Poor sizing lowers air quality and strains the building structure
- Requires regular professional maintenance and duct cleaning
- Often overlooks the makeup air a fireplace needs
Mobair system benefits
- No costly, space-consuming ductwork
- Fast installation — just 4–8 hours per unit
- Virtually maintenance-free, no tools needed
- Meets Finnish building regulations for ventilation
- Eliminates drafts, balances temperature, and recovers heat from incoming air
How It Works
The working principle
Power consumption
Base model: 1.0 W Heating model: 20–600 W
Heat recovery (HRV)
A patented mix of indoor and outdoor air that uses heat already stored near the ceiling to pre-warm incoming fresh air.
No fixed duct connection
Mobair intake valves aren't sealed flush to the wall; a small gap between the unit and the wall lets indoor air continuously circulate through the device.
Comfort
No drafts, even temperatures, and a lower heating bill
Without Mobair: cold air flows straight to where you live
With traditional ventilation, outdoor air often flows straight into the living room or bedroom while still cold. This feels like an unpleasant draft and forces you to heat your home more than necessary.
With Mobair: air warms up automatically on its way in
Mobair uses heat collected near the ceiling and mixes it with the cool incoming air before it enters the room. This keeps indoor air evenly warm and draft-free, even on the coldest winter days.
Sustainability
A low-carbon ventilation solution
No intake ducts at all — saving material, energy, and construction time across the entire lifecycle.
No intake ducts needed
The Mobair system works entirely without separate intake ducts, saving material, installation time, and construction costs right from the start.
Compatible with NIBE exhaust air heat pump
Pairing Mobair intake units with a NIBE exhaust air heat pump creates an energy-efficient, fully functional ventilation solution for both new builds and renovations.
Lower cost than traditional systems
Since no intake ductwork is needed, the combined system costs significantly less than traditional setups and the intake units are far easier to keep clean than a duct network.
Virtually no maintenance
The system runs reliably for years without major upkeep. The only routine task is replacing the filter a few times a year.
About Mobair
The result of 30 years of Finnish product development
Founded in 1992, Mobair is a Finnish company specializing in the design, manufacturing, and marketing of natural and mechanically-assisted ventilation systems that meet Finnish building regulations and one of the market leaders in its field.
Our systems have been tested and verified through rigorous testing by VTT and YIT. Mobair devices are manufactured in Salo, Finland.
